Scope of work : Supply of specialist Micro tunneling equipment and expertise to install standard diameter Ø30″ steel casing pipes at 3 locations then carrier pipe insertion (GRP Pipe) Ø 500 mm with total length 146 meters, Ø48″ steel casing pipes in one location then carrier pipe insertion (GRP Pipe) Ø 1000 mm with 50 meters length and DN 1000 RCJ Pipes at 4 locations with total length 283 meters. As well as, supply of specialist HDD equipment and expertise to install stranded diameter O.D. 160 mm HDPE Pipes at 16 locations with total length 980 meters. 

                                                         

Project Facts:

• This is the first time MT technique was applied in the KAEC.
• The main contractor has requested STCC to construct stormwater as a matter of urgency because of water collection near the neighborhoods were extremely dangerous.
• The drainage channel (Wadi) was constructed. Thus, starting and ending points were    very specific and in most crossing ground cover depth was not complying with the minimum requirement of MT works.
• Fast Track Project. 

Critical Success Factors:

• Obtained prequalification from the Client/EMAAR & (HDR INC) consultant, all required documents and credentials has been submitted as per required.
• Provided a suitable team of well-experienced staff.
• Took extreme precautions to monitoring the ground movement, and ultimately
• STCC had successfully completed its scope of work to the utmost level of satisfactory for both customer and end Client/ EMAAR represented by (HDR INC) consultant.
