Introduction
Scope of work : Supply and installation of DN2000 mm reinforced concrete jacking pipe without liner then insertion of DN1600mm GRP pipe underneath main roads for potable trunk line from Faisaliyah station to Breman reservoirs in Jeddah City.
Project Facts:
- We highlight one of the crossing in this project is considered as the longest crossing have ever been done by STCC. The crossing poses significant challenges, because of the crossing length was 476.9 linear meters which passing under various underground utilities, main street and obstacles, to reach inside NWC area to connect the main reservoirs to the network.
- The length of the crossing reaches the maximum machine design capacity.
- Likewise, two other crossings using the very same equipment of 358lm and 419.5lm.
Critical success factors:
- Provided a suitable team of well-experienced staff.
- Supply sufficient number of Intermediate jack stations.
- Worked nonstop 24hours/7 days.
Start & Finish date for the notable crossings:
- The longest crossing (476.9 meters) was started on 15th February, 2014 and completed on 27th April, 2014.
- The crossing length (358 meters) was started on 4th January, 2014 and completed on 12th February, 2014.
- The crossing length (419.5 meters) was started on 30th January 2017 and completed on 19th April 2017
It’s worth to mention that, NWC announced its appreciation to STCC in the Newspaper toward the huge effort was done by STCC to complete this project.
